Fifty on One Challenge – Disintegration

Eh, back to work, work, work. Might as well use some time during the loading screens to write something. Starting small, as it seems like years since I’ve written anything. Found this challenge at Sonia G Medeiros, 50 word story using one of the prompts. I chose disintegration.

The disintegration of their relationship began when she unwrapped the last gift and received gaudy earrings instead of the diamond engagement ring she hinted at all year. It crumbled apart, a little at a time, until New Year’s Eve, when she caught him kissing her uglier sister in the kitchen.
