The storm kept them all indoors for a couple of days and dropped so much snow; it was all anyone could talk about.
Owl and Raccoon ran out of their houses, scarves flapping and mittens dangling from sleeves and set to work on their fort.
They gathered snow in a giant pile. By the time they were done it was seven feet tall and the backyard looked like it hardly snowed at all. They stomped and packed the snow down. They carried buckets of water out of their kitchens and soaked the mounds.
Tomorrow, after it froze, they’d start digging.
