Owl and Raccoon stood in the shallow end, elbows resting on the concrete lip. The sun beat down on their shoulders as a few other kids splashed about. The pool wasn’t nearly as full as it would be later that afternoon.
They came here every morning instead of their summer classes. They’d jump in, paddle over to the shallow end and wait.
