He pried one eye open, hoping it was still early enough for a few more hour’s sleep, and saw the blank face of his alarm clock. He turned to the window, noticing it was as black outside at the display of the clock. Turning over, he figured it was a power outage and closed his eyes and went to sleep.
But a strange thought came to him as he slipped deeper and deeper down, as the blankets became heavier and his head sunk in the pillows. He repeated the thought, and found it comforting.
