Besieged

Some old movie about knights was playing on the television when the freezing rain started tapping at the windows. Owl and Raccoon listened as the frozen pellets turned to stones flung at the walls of their castle.

They hurried up to the battlements, their armour weighing heavy as they climbed the ladders. They saw the enemy approaching, columns of men so long they reached past the horizon. Owl rallied the archers and readied the oil, while Raccoon sent men to work the trebuchet on the south tower.

They stood shoulder to shoulder amid the chaos, eager for the coming battle.
