“You can’t believe anything he says,” she said.

“You can’t believe anything she says,” he said.

“You both lie. And you often do it for the same reason, but happen to call it different things,” the narrator said.

“Attention.”

“Deflection.”

“Bragging.”

“False modesty.”

“You’re the same. Two peas in a pod” the narrator said.

“I think I understand now.”

“It makes no sense.”

“It does if you think about it.”

“It doesn’t. Not really.”

“This is impossible.

“You’re impossible.”

“Do either of you think this is going anywhere?”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“One of you is lying.”

“I think we both are.”
