Dzinski kept his shoulder along the wall as he moved along the dimly-light boarding house hallway. He leaned against a door and heard low voices arguing while the baseball game blared from the radio. The door opened suddenly, a woman, panicked, exiting.
She ran into him. Dropped an overnight bag that landed with a heavy thud.
The man ran out after her, but seeing the situation, ducked back inside. Dzinski awkwardly waltzed with the woman, trying to get around her and after him. He got to the open window in time to see the man running, hellbent, down the alley.
