There’s No Point in This Revolt

If you hadn’t ridden your bike down the hill, like I said, your knees wouldn’t be scraped and bleeding.  You knew the wheels were loose and warped. It’d rained last night, just because it stopped by the time you woke up and ate breakfast, doesn’t mean that new asphalt they put in this spring wouldn’t be slick.

You’re lucky the neighbour saw you, as he came home from working the night shift, lying in the gravel at the foot of the hill, and picked you and your bike up and brought you home.

Maybe next time you’ll listen. Maybe not.
