“She acts like no one ever sat her down and told her she isn’t pretty enough to get away with it,” Cat said. “But they should have.”
“Your sister, you mean?” Hen asked.
Cat nodded while she surreptitiously looked in a nearby mirror. Hen pulled a top from the rack and held the hand under her chin, leaned back a little and smoothed the shirt down across her chest.
“What do you think?”
“Do they have it in another colour?”
“What’s wrong with this one?”
“It’s too blue for your complexion,” Cat said. “Anyway, she ruined the whole damn day.”
